If you haven’t heard, we have some new store hours. The store will be open from 9am – 4:30pm Thursday – Saturday. I know that many of you would like the store to be open more days – it has been challenging to find help that can work consistently with the hours we need to cover. There are lots of part-time work requests, every other Tuesday, not on Thursday mornings, I need off for visiting quests, craft events, luncheons etc. So, for now until we can find that key person, we will be open consistently on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays from 9am – 4:30pm.
Our first event for the Little Black Bag Club will be on Saturday, February 4th. Bring your Little Black Bag to the store for more details. We don’t want to give away all the fun before the event, but we can tell you there will BEE at least a 25% off one special Little Black Bag promotional item. How do you get into the Little Black Bag Club? Later this year, during our black Friday event at the store we will open up membership to the club and offer black bags for sale. Black bags are only available for purchase on black Friday and during the month of December.
This year at the store we are will be having several Full Moon Events. Did you know that Full Moon names date back to the Native Americans of North America. Tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full Moon. Full Moon names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred.
There was some variation in the Full Moon names, but in general, the same ones were consistent among regional tribes. European settlers followed that custom and created some of their own names. According to the Farmer’s Almanac there are going to be 13 Full Moons during 2023.
Our first Full Moon event will be in April – Full Pink Moon. The Farmer’s Almanac states this name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month’s celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn.
Additional details on our Full Moon April event will be available soon and posted to our website.
Mark your calendars for our upcoming 13th Birthday Party Tent Sale. We will celebrate our birthday for two days, Friday February 10th and Saturday February 11th from 9 – 2 pm. There are hundreds of bolts that will be in our tent on sale. As we’ve done in the past all sale fabrics must be cut outside in the tent then brought inside for payment. As there will be a healthy discount on sale fabric no loyalty points (card punches) will be given on sale items. And as it is always the store policy no loyalty cards can be redeemed on sale items.
Any regular purchased items will receive points and completed loyalty cards can be redeemed on regular priced sales. This is a very busy event for the store so we are asking for your help to try and remember to tell our cashier you will be using a loyalty card prior to completion of your sale. Once the sale is completed there is no way to go back and apply any loyalty cards.
Also, The Spring Fling Quilt Run will be held on Thursday March 2nd, Friday March 3rd, and Saturday March 4th. We are working on our sample using the lovely, featured fabric from Poppie Cotton. As soon as we have our sample complete, we will post some pictures.
