The heat is on as summer fast approaches, and we are busy busy busy busy getting ready for the Southern California Quilt Run which starts this July.
The Theme is National Days, and our store was given National Camping Day. Each participating store will be celebrating a different National Day. We are dusting off our fishing poles and camping gear and working on a few camping and outdoor projects for the event. Our store theme is “Camp Iwanawana Quilt!” The Dates are Thursday, July 13th – Sunday, July 16th and Thursday, July 20th – Sunday, July 23rd.
Also, during this event we are planning the debut of “Sisters” a cast of endearing children’s patterns. Easy and quick to construct offered in multiple sizes. We’ll have lots of samples, patterns, and kits for your shopping pleasure.

The 27-piece collection is highlighted with a touch of metallics creating a quiet elegance.
Welcome the Grannys Teapots sample to our vintage section loaded with lots of fabrics and notions. This sample uses both the prairie and calico collections by Lori Holt. The pattern is well written and a pleasure to make. Our sample is a “controlled” scrappy version however, the teapots could be made from any novelty collection or color collection. Thinking I may want to do another haunted teapot collection using the zillions of yards of Halloween fabric I’ve been collecting all my life.
The Pineapple Party sample is new to the store also and we have pre-cut kits available. A bright tropical sample using those wonderful bright fabrics by Jennifer Paganelli. This quilt top goes together super-fast using all the pre-cut fabrics. I’m becoming a true believer in pre-cut kits. When you want quick and perfect results nothing could be better.
And finally, we hung the Boreal Forest sample at the store. Another great addition and one we can’t stop looking at. A contemporary design using Kona cottons. Kits are also available for this quilt. The pattern is written well and offers several size options.
