The next full moon this month is on the 27th and we will be giving away another Under the Desert Moon quilt kit to one lucky winner. This full moon is sometimes referred to as the beaver moon.
This was the time when beavers finished preparations for winter and retreated into their lodges. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver heard this Native American term during his travels. As the crisp embrace of winter descends, you might hear folks refer to it as the "Frost Moon" or the "Freezing Moon."
And speaking of embracing, we've extended our hours to give you more time to explore and enjoy our quilting wonders. From Thursdays through Saturdays, our doors swing open at 9 am and graciously close at 4:30 pm, so you can indulge your passion for quilting even longer.
Now, hold onto your threads, because we're switching things up for our annual Christmas Party and Hot Cocoa Bar. Instead of the usual baked goods and bustling store on a December Saturday, we've decided to host a spectacular Black Friday and Small Store Saturday store-wide sales extravaganza. We're taking the savings that would have gone into delicious treats, condiments, and prizes and passing them straight back to our cherished customers. It's going to be a holly, jolly, and wallet-friendly celebration. Stay tuned for more details as the holiday weekend approaches.
Lots of creative juices flowing at the store with two quilts currently in the hands of talented quilters, three more are being lovingly bound, and there are two more quilts that are getting fitted with backings. We are also working on our next “sisters” design to compliment Millye and Edith and all their wonderful dress samples at the store. More inspiration is coming soon in the store.
And mark your calendars, for our 14th Birthday Party is just around the corner! We'll be celebrating on Friday, February 16th and Saturday, February 17th, 2024. Can you believe it's been 14 incredible years of fabric fun? Time sure does fly when you're lost in the world of beautiful quilts and fabric.
This week we received the pre-cuts for Eyelet by Fig Tree and Company for Moda Fabrics. Such a sweet collection and maybe a new basic blender! I think it’s a fresh alternative to the polka dot and I look forward to working with it on many projects . We can’t wait to see what beautiful creations you’ll come up with.
See you at the store!
