In the month of April, we will be having our “Good Fortune Fridays.”  On Friday, April 12^th, Friday, April 19^thand Friday April 26^th when you visit the store, you will select your fortune cookie to reveal what good fortune is yours for the day.

Well, with all the winter and spring rain we have had this year, there are sure to be colorful blooming wildflowers, and now that the sunshine is back it is just a matter of time before all those native desert plants also bloom.   “Sweet April showers do spring May Flowers” – Thomas Tusser

Well, we have an abundance of blooming bundles, flower packs and floral fat quarters to help celebrate the coming of May flowers and of course Mother’s Day. During the month of May at the store all floral fabrics will be on a progressive special with the more you purchase the more you will save.

Also, in May do not forget to redeem those coupons you received during the Spring Fling Shop Hop event for donating food. The coupons are good at any store that participated in the event.

And starting on May 1^st the store will operate on summer hours, which are Thursday – Saturday from 9am – 3pm. Yep, the heat kicks way up in May and many of our residents’ head to cooler places including some of the wonderful people we are fortunate to have work with us at the store. So, it just means you need to get out earlier in the day before the heat starts to intensify to visit your favorite quilt store.

That might have been the fastest season ever!

The next shop hop event is the annual Southern California Quilt Run this July. The theme has this year - Shoot for the Stars. We look forward to this event each year as during the summers hot months we see tumbleweeds rolling down the parking lot welcoming the brave travelers into our store. So, Your Darn Tootin, we will be Shootin the Stars! Western Stars that is – we are planning one big western star showdown. So, dust off your cowboy hats and boots and mark these dates on your calendar, Thursday – Sunday, July 11^th – July 14^th & Thursday – Sunday, July 18^th – July 21^st.   

Some new shiny goodies at the store: 

Flower Girl by Heather Briggs for Moda Fabrics.  Flower Girl channels spring days filled with sunshine and innocent laughter – when you didn’t have a care in the world and could embrace life.  The collection features sweet and feminine florals in soft shades of cream, blush, peach, buttercup yellow, and sage and grass green.  We brought in the entire 34-piece collection.

A couple new bag samples or feed sacks as the pattern calls them. One of our favorite customs had this bag adorning their shoulder and we had to ask, “Where did you get that pattern?”  And that is how we came to make the bag. Great little pattern using jelly rolls or any 2½” strip sets.
